We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Rheumatology/Osteoporosis to join our Medical Team, who can build strong, enduring partnerships and has an innovative mindset, based in Switzerland.
About the role
The MSL is a field-based expert in Rheumatology and Osteoporosis, engaging in scientific discussions, presentations, and responding to unsolicited questions. The core content of these discussions will focus on unmet medical needs that are of scientific and developmental importance to UCB in immunology, related to existing assets and research areas. You will be the leading local scientific expert for UCB in the therapeutic area.
You will be responsible for developing, reviewing and executing the medical content of the local ecosystem plan, building local medical tactics / plans, conducting advisory boards, and arranging local scientific exchanges / symposiums. Additionally, you will also be involved in the feasibility processes for clinical studies, collaborative or investigator-initiated research, donations, grants, and other related activities.
Who you’ll work with:
Reporting to the Medical Lead Rheum Osteo Alps, you will be part of a team of three colleagues, working in a highly collaborative environment. As the MSL Rheumatology/Osteoporosis you are the scientific discussion partner, engaging with national and international Key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) throughout various phases of the product life cycle. You will collaborate both externally and internally, working closely with an integrated team across various functions. While you are expected to work independently, a strong team player mindset is essential.
What will you do:
- Identify and manage key scientific and medical influencers based on local ecosystem dynamics.
- Explore and identify new sources of patient value by highlighting the holistic disease burden of chronic immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs).
- Manage and generate product/disease state data (Phase III/IV, IIS, audits, real-world evidence, etc.).
- Collaborate with clinical experts (KOLs), healthcare providers (HCPs), health care and/or patient associations to improve medical initiatives and enhance patient care.
- Internally share insights, innovation opportunities, and patient needs with the patient-value units.
- Ensure the transfer of scientific knowledge to internal stakeholders as a scientific expert.
- Contribute both role-specific and cross-functional expertise within the ecosystem team to achieve specific account objectives.
- Drive the development of real-world evidence in the local ecosystem and leverage UCB solutions’ value for patients to medical and payer communities.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
- MSc. in Life Sciences, a PhD is an advantage.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in German and English.
- 3+ years of MSL experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success with biologics in immunology, with a preference for Rheumatology.
- Strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare ecosystem.
- Effective influencing and project management skills.
- Proven ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal.
