Accelleron´s purpose “Accelerating sustainability in Marine and Energy” places sustainability in very core of our business. To take the next step forward and beyond, we are looking for aHead of Sustainabilityto identify further opportunities and become a thought leader. The Head of Sustainability will be responsible for driving the sustainability strategy and initiatives across the organization. This role involves integrating sustainability into the company's business strategy and DNA, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Head of Sustainability will also manage sustainability reporting and contribute to the development of sustainable products and services. The role reports to Chief HR and Sustainability Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainability Strategy:
- Assess and define the sustainability strategy in collaboration with the Executive Committee.
- Drive the group strategy and secure it´s integration to business strategy, relevant sustainability projects and transformation towards sustainability goals.
- To ensure success in business, collaborate with Divisions and Functions to shape decarbonization plans and integrate risks and opportunities.
- Guide EC and senior management in relevant decision-making and shaping a culture where all employees feel engaged with the company purpose.
- Seek approval and communicate progress towards sustainability goals to the Sustainability Committee, Executive Committee (EC), Nomination and Compensation Committee (NCC), and Board of Directors (BOD).
Business Integration:
- Integrate sustainability into business development, R&D and innovation as well as products and services.
- Translate the overall strategy into actionable projects and prioritize them.
- Utilize industry benchmarks and insights to enrich the strategy.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the point of contact for the NCC/BOD and manage communication and material preparation for meetings.
- Define the sustainability budget, including selection of solutions and providers.
- Create and maintain a sustainability community within the organization to provide training, education, and support for sustainability initiatives.
- Work closely with certification partners and bring relevant insights from customers, investors, NGOs, trade associations, and regulators.
- Respond to external queries and provide guidance on sustainability topics.
- Participate in due diligence and secure efficient integration of acquired businesses to Accelleron Sustainability strategy and reporting.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Monitor and summarize relevant laws and regulations for stakeholders.
- Develop and implement systems to track and report on sustainability topics.
- Secure audit trail on CO2 emissions and other publicly available and assured data.
- Define content, support in writing and oversee the data collection for the annual sustainability report.
- Ensure alignment with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other relevant regulation and engage with stakeholders on these matters.
- Secure that company sustainability policies and guidelines are set in collaboration with Divisions and Functions.
We look forward to hearing from you possessing following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in definition of sustainability strategy and its implementation in a mid-size or large corporation in global context demonstrating a significant impact.
- In depth understanding of sustainability regulations and reporting standards, experience in external sustainability reporting.
- Excellent communication, influencing, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and with external partners.
- Solid experience in leading teams, projects and acting as an internal thought leader.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
