WinGD is looking for a
Control Software Engineer, Integrated Energy Systems
WinGD is seeking a Control Software Engineer to develop and optimize control solutions for marine integrated energy systems. In this role, you will work with advanced control strategies, real-time systems, and industrial automation technologies to enhance energy efficiency and system performance. You will play a key role in designing, simulating, and validating control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink, conducting Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing, and integrating third-party components such as batteries, fuel cells, shaft generators, and electrical drives.
This position is ideal for candidates with a background in marine electrical and hybrid propulsion systems, but professionals from automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation sectors with relevant expertise are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement control software for marine energy systems using a model-based approach.
- Design, simulate, and validate control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Conduct SiL and HiL testing to ensure control software reliability.
- Integrate third-party supplier components into the energy system.
- Implement advanced control strategies like Model Predictive Control (MPC), Dynamic Programming (DP), and Reinforcement Learning (RL).
- Support system commissioning, field testing, and performance optimization.
- Ensure compliance with marine industry standards and safety regulations.
- Contribute to the development of digital twins and simulation environments.

Professional Skills

- Familiarity with advanced control techniques (MPC, DP, RL).
- Knowledge of electrical drive technologies, preferably in the marine sector.
- Basic Python programming skills for automation, data analysis, and machine learning (preferred).
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (CAN, Modbus).
- Experience in integrating third-party components (batteries, fuel cells, engines, electrical drives) into an energy management system is a plus.
Languages
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Education
- Master’s (MSc) or Bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Electrical Automation Control, or a related field.
