For the biggest BU at Sécheron, Electrical Safety Solutions (ESS), we are looking for an ambitious, energetic and experienced Business Development Manager/Developer leading all activities to drive financial growth of the Business Unit through boosting sales and in-depth market assessments.
Reporting to the BU Head, the main activities are:
- To develop and implement a growth strategy for ESS for existing and new products covering railway as well as renewable energy and industrial applications in order to ensure sustainable business growth.
- To identify business opportunities and provide market insights to navigate the product roadmap and development activities in R&D and support the sales team to increase their sales effectiveness.
- Drive and support the Business Unit product line managers, product development and the sales team in developing the product economics.
- Develop and implement a growth strategy focused both on growth and financial objectives in strong collaboration with the sales organization.
- Carry out market research and analysis to identify market opportunities in railway, industrial and renewable energy applications, guide the development of new business segments and the product roadmap.
- Develop, in strong cooperation with the product line managers and the sales team, business cases for individual products.
- Define, drive and track the implementation of corresponding action plans in close collaboration with the sales team and the product line managers.
- Prepare product launch and market placement plans in close cooperation with marketing, sales and product line managers.
- Prepare and maintain a comparative analysis of competitors' products to support the sales network's promotional efforts and provide input to product line managers.
- Prepare and organize key information for the business.
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients in order to develop business opportunities.
- Provide market feedback to product development teams and after-sales support.
- Technical degree in electrical engineering or in power electronics.
- Further education in industrial product marketing/business administrations desirable.
- At least 10 years experience as international Business Developer in industrial B2B environment.
- Successful track record introducing power products to new clients, thereby driving key people across the organization.
- Proven working experience as a successful business development manager/developer on an international scale.
- Good knowledge of at least one of the following industry sectors: high voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy and e-mobility.
- Interest and ability to understand DC and AC power systems and corresponding product needs.
- Excellent analytical, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
- Proven ability to think creatively, identify and resolve problems.
- Experienced to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High integrity and trustworthiness, open and transparent.
- Open to frequent travelling.
- Excellent communication skills en English, French and/or German are desirable. Other languages are a plus.
