Devops Engineer (80-100%, all genders)

• Enable a stable, secure and scalable production environment for one of Switzerland's largest identity systems, making a lasting impact on the national and international digital landscape.
• Provide technical project management for the migration of trust & identity applications into cloud-native environments in Switch's own Switch Cloud platform (k8s, OpenStack, monitoring, logging and alerting platforms).
• Carry out hands on DevOps work to build and maintain the operating environment for trust and identity including the deployment environment and metrics based monitoring.
• Solution/domain architecture - design and implement highly available operational environments from components and infrastructure provided by other teams and by your own team.
• Identify, analyse and solve problems and work with the service teams to develop concepts to improve our deployment and operational environment.

• Deep knowledge of containerisation, Kubernetes and general cloud-native topics.
• Hands on experience with metrics based monitoring, logging and alerting.
• Demonstrated expertise in Linux, Git/GitOps (Gitlab, Flux, ArgoCD), and DevOps practices, ensuring seamless integration and efficient collaboration within our team.
• Ability to work across teams and harmonise requirements into solutions for the department.

• Knowledge of and interest in privacy preserving digital identities.
• Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization technologies.
• Experience in operating an SQL based database system and/or LDAP user directory (we use PostgreSQL and OpenLDAP).
• SRE or large scale service provider operations background.

• We're on the critical path for over a million users daily.
• Our main developer environment and platforms are Kubernetes and Gitlab and we develop and maintain our end to end pipelines.
• Our main logging and monitoring platforms are based on Grafana, Prometheus, Vector and Loki and we are responsible for configuring SLIs and alerting.
