The Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) helps leaders anticipate exponential technologies and drive responsible sectoral and industry transformation. It creates and scales initiatives in a global network of government- and not-for-profit hosted centres which give national trailblazers access to a trusted platform of sharing, learning, and problem-solving.

Through its digital inclusion flagship initiative, the EDISON Alliance , the World Economic Forum made a positive impact on one billion lives by championing accessible and affordable digital services across healthcare, finance, and education. Building on this major milestone, the Forum will engage and expand its global multi-stakeholder community of 200+ digital inclusion champions to drive impact across new stakeholder groups, issue domains, technology levers, and geographies.
Reporting lines & interactions
The Community and Initiative Lead, Digital Inclusion, will be responsible for managing and growing the Forum’s digital inclusion initiatives, communities and knowledge platforms. The position reports to the Head of Digital Inclusion. The successful candidate will work internally across multiple Centres and teams, and externally with business executives, experts and practitioners from across industries and sectors.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
Community Engagement (60%)

Lead impactful community activities and events from deign to delivery

Drive onboarding and engagement of new stakeholders

Support community members in leveraging EDISON frameworks, tools and platforms to drive impact

Respond to partner needs in a timely manner and resolve conflicts and tensions constructively

Proactively identify and engage prospective community members in line with initiative vision and goals

Catalyse high-impact collaborations and partnerships among community members

Facilitate regular reviews with leadership to maintain community engagement and refine strategy.

Develop agendas and materials for community and leadership/Board meetings
Initiative Leadership (40%)

Support Head of Digital Inclusion in shaping the strategy and operationalization of the next phase of the EDISON Alliance and other digital inclusion programmes.

Keep digital inclusion projects and initiatives on target and timeline

Manage commitment reporting and ensure organizations are tracking progress effectively.

Lead annual impact report from data collection and aggregation to publication
Preferred requirements and experience
-
7-8+ years’ experience in the public or private sector or non-profit, with exposure to digital inclusion, digital communications, investments, transformation; experience in more than one sector is an asset

Master’s degree, preferable

Strategic thinking with ability to identify trends and patterns of transformation

Passion to shape the global and regional digital inclusion agenda

Demonstrated ability to work across different cultures and with senior executives and leaders from private and public sectors

Demonstrated ability to cultivate communities

Strong interpersonal skills and contextual and emotional intelligence

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

Excellent verbal and written language skills in English, verbal proficiency in other languages is an asset

Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible organizational structure
