Job Description
William Blair is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our Institution Sales & Trading team in Zurich.
The Sales Assistant will provide customer service to clients and sales support to equity sales team. Gain familiarity with William Blair’s equity products and research. Perform research requested by sales team and clients. Build relationships with counterparts throughout the firm to facilitate execution of job responsibilities. Provide backup to other assistants in the sales and trading department.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Act as a point of contact for client inquiries, order entry and trade routing as well as trade allocation and trade booking.
- Support a team of senior salespeople in answering phones, providing updates on William Blair research and product offerings.
- Manage the post-trade process to ensure that all trades are settled smoothly.
- Monitor trade settlements to ensure they meet the designated timeline and handle any discrepancies or issues that arise during settlement.
- Liaise with counterparties and back office in Chicago to ensure smooth clearing and settlement process.
- Maintain strong relationship with clients, ensuring timely responses to queries and excellent service delivery.
- Assist in managing client onboarding, ensuring that necessary documents are collected, and trade information is correctly recorded.
- Assist with compliance reporting, record-keeping, and ensuring the integrity of all trade documentation.
- Perform various administrative tasks on a monthly basis.
- Participate in other projects assigned by management.
- Possibility to co-cover institutional accounts with senior salesperson.
- Provide backup support to other assistants and others in the sales and trading department as needed.
Skills/requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Series 7 license required or expected to be successfully obtained within 3 months of employment
- Fluency in English, Swiss German and German
- Financial and or Professional Services experience
- Strong interest in and knowledge of the US equity market and related fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary
- Excellent organisational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and take responsibility for one’s work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment where cooperation and team support are essential
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to respond efficiently and effectively to client’s and senior salesperson’s needs
- Proficient in MS Office software products; ability to learn programs that are relevant to the department
