Job Description
About this job:
- The position is embedded in the World-Wide Casualty Pricing department, which is part of the Chief Actuarial and Risk Office.
- The successful candidate will join the EMEA Casualty Pricing team in Zurich and has pricing responsibility for Casualty and Motor lines of business across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
- Your core responsibility is to be a Business Partner for the underwriters by providing profitability analysis of markets, segments, and individual transactions.
In this role you will:
- Provide timely and transparent account pricing for the Regional Liability and Specialty Casualty General Liability reinsurance treaty business.
- Develop pricing methodology and parameter for the General Liability line of business across EMEA region.
- Perform market analysis and business reviews that will support PartnerRe portfolio optimization.
- Contribute to the development, testing and maintenance of the corporate pricing tool and reporting landscapes.
- Participate on a variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests)
A key success factor in this role is regular exchange with Underwriters and other business partners, such as Reserving, Risk Management and Senior Management.
Qualifications
About you:
The ideal candidate profile will have the following background and skills:
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience including 3+ years of reinsurance pricing or large account primary insurance pricing experience, and a wish to develop further in this area.
- Strong communication skills and are able to effectively communicate to both internal and external audiences at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to digest detailed reinsurance transactions and able to explain complex points to non-actuarial audiences.
- Flexible and able to listen to different viewpoints and make course corrections when necessary.
- Experience with regional casualty market in EMEA and working knowledge of casualty insurance products is preferrable.
- In addition, you possess a university degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering or similar), and ideally have an actuarial qualification or are pursuing one, which we will support.
- To be a successful business partner you enjoy communicating and working together with different internal and external clients, and are proficient in English. Fluent communication in German is an advantage.
- Last but not least, as a motivated, reliable and adaptable team colleague, you actively contribute to finding solutions.
