Your role and responsibilities
We are looking to appoint a Project Engineer within the area of Drive Applications. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, engineering, commissioning, and testing electric drive systems. This will include customized products fitted to mills, high-pressure grinding rolls, conveyors, fans and pumps used in the minerals processing industry.

This role is contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Design technical solutions for electric drive systems, including clarification and coordination of all relevant engineering aspects during project execution
- Conduct development of application specific control platform features for MV Drives (ACS6080)
- Oversee with commissioning and maintenance of MV drive systems at customer sites worldwide, including troubleshooting
- Issue and review conceptional designs, technical specifications and data sheets, project documents, and customer documentation; support sales, service and R&D with technical knowledge around MV drive systems and its dedicated use in grinding applications
Qualifications for the role
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering; emphasis on Power Electronics/Drive Technology essential
- 3-5 years' experience in MV drive technology
- Technical knowledge of latest ABB MV drive system control platform (UCON, Sandbox, Crealizer™), as well as experience relating to commissioning and service activities
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multicultural environment
- Strong command of English at a technical/engineering level (both written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel on global commissioning and service assignments to remote sites (approx. 25% of working hours and up to several weeks per assignment)
