Textile Design Internship

About Us: 4spaces & ZigZagZurich are pioneers in the world of textiles and interior design, known for their innovative patterns and commitment to quality. Located in Zurich along the Limmat River, our showroom and office are hubs for creativity and collaboration. We are looking for a talented Design Intern to join our team and bring their creativity and skills to life in an inspiring environment.

Position: Internship (80-100%)

Location: Zurich Wipkingen, Breitensteinstrasse

Start Date: As soon as possible

Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)

The internship provides the opportunity to gain practical experience in textile design. The intern will be involved in various design processes and gain insights into the development of new textile collections.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the development of textile patterns and designs

• Researching trends, materials, and color palettes

• Creating mood boards and concept presentations

• Supporting material and color selection

• Preparing technical drawings and production documents

• Assisting in communication with suppliers and production partners

• Helping organize internal meetings and presentations

• Performing general administrative tasks in the design process

• Archiving

Requirements for the Intern:

• Studying or training in textile design, fashion design, or a related field

• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

• Creativity and a good sense of colors, materials, and trends

• Structured and meticulous working approach • Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Initiative and motivation

• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

• Strong communication skills to articulate design concepts effectively

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and multicultural environment

• Knowledge or experience in weaving, printing techniques, or fabric analysis is a plus
