The University of Bern educates over 19'500 students, employing more than 7'800 people in around 150 institutes and 9 competence centres, in over 90 different locations. The Innovation Office is housed within the Vice-Rectorate Research and Innovation; its mission being to promote and strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Bern and the Inselspital, Bern University Hospital as a cornerstone of future success. As a catalyst, the Innovation Office accelerates the further development of ideas and inventions and strengthens the transfer of innovative research and teaching to business and society.
Your tasks will include, to:
- Support, advise and coach spin-off projects, startups and innovation activities in the area of Biotech, Health and Medicine at the University of Bern and the Inselspital, Bern University Hospital.
- Support, advise and coach research groups willing to get innovation-related non dilutive funds to start their endeavour.
- Explore and develop Open Innovation collaborations with industry partners.
- Develop and support activities that foster entrepreneurship and innovation in Biotech, Health and Medicine.
- Pro-actively manage relations with key partners and stakeholders, and actively engage with the Bernese and Swiss innovation and startup ecosystem.
- Strengthen the profile of the University of Bern and the Inselspital as a thriving innovation hub in biotech, health and medicine.
Your profile
- Academic degree at master's or doctoral level related to biotech, health, medicine and technology (i.e. Chemistry, Medtech, Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmaceutics).
- Professional experience of several years in industry, with customers responsibilities, strong network in the clinical or regulatory environment as a plus.
- Experience in grants applications and non-dilutive funding applications.
- Interest for the startup world, with knowledge of the Swiss ecosystem.
- Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken German or French and English.
