Head of Sales, Motion System Drives
Your role and responsibilities
As the Head of Global Sales Excellence for System Drives, you will be the driving force behind developing a high-performing global sales organization to ensure sustainable, professional growth and market leadership. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales of ABB System Drives, your mission is to implement and embed world-class sales methodologies, tools, and processes, enabling the sales organization to proactively create value for customers and capture market share. You will work actively with the local sales units to increase the sales productivity and drive local improvement actions. You will be responsible to monitor performance and identify areas of improvement. Based on this, you will drive improvement activities in the areas of competence development, processes, methodologies, sales tools and pricing. The work model for the role is: hybrid ; #LI-Hybrid The role is contributing to the Motion / System Drives division globally . The role will be working closely with the regional teams, controllers and will be managing a team.You will be mainly accountable for:• Strategy Development & implementation: Contributes to and translates the sales strategy into actionable initiatives, monitors performance, and ensures high standards of sales execution and operational excellence.• Process Improvements: Responsible for all front-end sales processes, developing tools for customer interactions, simplifying and automating sales execution, and ensuring high data quality.• Pricing: Develops and implements the pricing strategy and roadmap, focusing on strategic pricing, pricing process, and analytics to boost sales volume and margins.• Competence Development: Drives competence strategy and roadmap, monitors organizational competencies, and ensures access to required training for sales skills and product knowledge.
Qualifications for the role
- 10+ years of experience in Sales Excellence, Sales Operations, or Sales Management roles, preferably in industrial sectors such as Motion, Drives, or Motors.
- University degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field with extended business education.
- Proven track record of building and transforming sales organizations to deliver sustainable growth and high performance.
- Expertise in sales processes, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and analytics to drive data-driven decision-making and optimization.
- Knowledge of sales processes, sales methodologies, sales tools, pricing and competence development.
- Experience from work in an international environment and in driving and implementing strategic projects in a global matrix organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and functions.
- Experienced in leading teams with strategic functions.
- Strongly Results-driven, team-oriented, analytical, self-organizing.
- Fluent English language skills.
