About Beyond Gravity
Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, Beyond Gravity is not your typical space company. We're a unique blend of agility, speed, and innovation, fusing a start-up mindset with decades of industry expertise and a track record of 100% mission success. Our dynamic team of over 1600 professionals, spread across 14 locations in seven countries, is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is technically feasible. We're not just building crucial products for the satellites, launchers and semiconductor industry, we’re helping to improve life on earth.
Your Crew:
Work alongside members of the strategic space project team who bring decades of experience to the table! Our international team based in Zurich will support you in advancing the crucial work for our RF-Project. Using your hands-on approach, take ownership in shaping solutions that have a direct impact in the strategic decision of the division: this internship gives you a unique opportunity to build applications that will be used daily within the company and also with external partners. This is a great occasion to learn new skills and to push yourself beyond expectations while you pave the way for new products at Beyond Gravity Switzerland!
Your Mission:
Be the pivotal member behind a RF prototype that combines hardware and software components
Conduct additional market surveys of existing hardware, such as antennas and amplifiers, as well as Software Defined Radio (SDR)
Suggest and implement improvements to existing documentations, studies, and Python codes that will help you build new components
Budget, select, purchase, assemble, implement and deploy your proposed solution
Program all routines needed for geolocation using Python, and deploy the built software within your proposed solution so the demonstrator can track fast moving sources and implement Doppler algorithms to detect them (or equi-frequency/phase curves)
Run tests of your demonstrator and analyse the results
Write a report containing documentation of the system, infrastructure, library used and your code
Present your recommendation for the next steps
Your Story:
Currently enrolled in BSc or MSc, or max. one year post graduation from MSc
Acute understanding of signal processing, preferably in the application domain of RF signals, Doppler algorithms, equifrequency and phase curves
Solid know-how about RF and antenna theory, including physical implications for antenna and amplifiers
Experience in coding in Python and/or C++
Good mathematical skills
Hands-on experience of working with hardware
Independent and proactive, you like to work in dynamic environments and constantly look for innovative ways to bring new ideas
