Senior Manager, Global Patient Advocacy
Cambridge, MA

OBJECTIVES:
- Partner with Head of Patient Advocacy to manage relationships with US and global patient organizations and advocate for the needs of the patient community within Takeda
- Contribute to cross-functional teams advancing shared interests with patient advocacy partners; collaborate with various US and Global teams, including Corporate Communications, Ethics & Compliance, and Legal, to ensure plans and decisions reflect hematologic patient and care partner insights
- Support the Patient Advocacy team in the design and implementation of pan-cancer and tumor-specific strategies and programs that support the goals of Takeda and the patient community
- Drive success of employee engagement activities, internal and external events, campaigns and other signature programs though design and implementation of key program elements
- Manage all aspects of Global Patient Advocacy’s grants, sponsorships, and donations program, including assurance of compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies and SOPs, while measuring and reporting the impact of our giving initiatives
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support development and delivery of an innovative, cross-functional strategic approach to myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, and pan-cancer patient advocacy and engagement aligned with Takeda therapy area priorities
- Represent Patient Advocacy in cross-functional workstreams, advancing planning and execution of key projects
- Lead tactical implementation of elements of Patient Advocacy programs and other company initiatives, ensuring timely and thoughtful execution
- Advance Takeda hematology and pan-cancer priorities through compliant sponsorships and execution of program benefits
- Enrich company meetings, training sessions, and other internal events with patient, care partner and advocate speakers and insights
- Work across Communications & Patient Advocacy and other teams to amplify company programs and support through social media and other internal and external communications channels
- Manage strategy and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to make compliant decisions on grants, sponsorships, and donations. Oversee the GS&D process, including review, processing, funding recommendations, Legal and Compliance reviews and approvals, contracting, reconciliations, reporting, and budget oversight.
- Manage the Patient Advocacy budget, acting as principal liaison to Finance, updating vendors, and ensuring spending aligns with allocated funds
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
- Experience in project management including on-time, on-budget delivery of key programs
- Prior pharmaceutical and/or advocacy organization experience preferred
- Understanding of patient advocacy and its contribution to business success
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and the ability to prioritize effectively to meet personal, team and company goals
- Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate in a concise, engaging and convincing manner
- Enthusiastic and passionate about patient advocacy, demonstrating a proactive and positive attitude in all initiatives

- Experience in budget management
- Possess strong reasoning skills to make contextually sensitive decisions, with excellent problem-solving ability and creativity
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Position includes approximately 25% travel, with potential for international travel

U.S. Base Salary Range:
133,000.00 - 209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
