Set to be a huge success, overlooking the city center from Zurich's stunning Uetliberg plateau, this property is home to 87 suites and rooms as well as 7 award-winning and new culinary concepts centered around FIVE's hallmark musical stylings. As a Commis de Cuisine Pastry you will join a committed culinary team driven with the intent of delivering ‘FIVE-star' guest experiences to an international diaspora.
As our ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly active environment. Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing solutions that push groundbreaking boundaries.
You'll work closely with the management team to develop constantly evolving service goals.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in high-volume culinary operations, specifically in pastry.
- Passion for the culinary arts and an eagerness to innovate and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Swiss work permit holder or EU ID/Passport holder.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake cake and sweets preparation and monitor closely the requirements for mise-En-place
- Ensure kitchen and food preparation areas are entirely clean when left unattended
- Follow the rules set and/or by law regarding hygiene, stock rotation, dating, storage, temperature control of refrigerators, pest control, reporting of faulty equipment, reporting of notifiable diseases, reporting of absenteeism be it due to sickness or otherwise
- Help to prevent waste of food and over-production to mise-En-place, and keep food order from store or supplies to a minimum
- Follows proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices always
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
- Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
- Work efficiently to control wastage of food and non- food items
