360 Labs Initiative at a Glance

The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED ). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.

The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. The Opportunity

The Histopathology Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to add an experienced, highly-motivated, and collaborative Scientist to its Histopathology team. The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable in every step of the histopathology workflow as well as the drug development process. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, providing dedicated histology services using state of the art equipment, take on a main role in coordinating daily platform activities, contribute to the ongoing development and operations of the Histopathology Technology Platform and collaborate closely with 360 Labs Histopathology Team members and scientists from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to consult, plan and advance experiments in early drug discovery within the pRED organization.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• You will drive the planning, coordination, and execution of histopathology projects, working collaboratively with Histopathology Technology Platform members, other 360 Labs colleagues, and scientists from our therapeutic disease areas to design and implement experimental plans and histopathological readouts for early drug discovery projects;

• You will work with the Platform Head to manage daily laboratory activities, including distributing and prioritizing workload, whilst also acting as one of the primary interfaces for lab-related questions;

• You will apply histology techniques and be accountable for the timely implementation and execution of assays, along with engaging with key stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;

• You will embrace a culture of continuous learning by actively engaging with the latest scientific literature to stay at the forefront of emergent histopathology technologies and approaches; present findings and updates to internal stakeholders and at scientific conferences (where appropriate), ensuring cutting-edge expertise is cultivated and maintained.

Who you are

• You hold a PhD degree in the life sciences with 3-5 years of professional experience focused on the application of histological techniques ideally in either the pharmaceutical industry or biotech sector;

• You possess a robust knowledge of the drug development process, ideally in more than one disease area, with a passion for applying histological techniques to advance drug discovery projects through the early discovery phases;

• You possess exceptional organizational skills and can effectively coordinate activities, all while maintaining a passion for hands-on work in the lab to support and drive the collective efforts of the Histopathology Platform.
