Job Description
About the role:
You will develop, implement, and administrate all applicable environmental, safety and industrial hygiene support programs and policies. Ensure safety and security on the site. Provide proactive direction to improve the EHS level on the site including external companies or contractors working on site, compliance with all Federal, State and Local environmental and safety regulations. Act as primary liaison with external regulatory agencies and direct the job responsibilities of staff. You will report to the Site Head at Neuchâtel.
Scope:
- Neuchâtel plant
- Key contact and strong relationship with Takeda corporate EHS
- Supervision of the EHS team members. You will have four direct reports.
- Member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT)
- Primary contact for regulatory agencies such as EPA and OSHA for inspections (or equivalent) , permitting, and reporting
How you will contribute:
- Develop, implement, and manage site activities to ensure compliance with all EHS requirements and policies, for example:
- Environmental program
- Sustainability program focusing on CO2 emission, waste generation and water usage reduction
- Safety, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene program.
- In collaboration with the site leadership team, develop and implement the site’s strategies and tactical plans.
- Develop, manage spending and propose adequate investment.
- Ensure People engagement and development for EHS culture on the whole site
- Develop and Coach the EHS team and EHS ambassadors
- Develop, and provide technical guidance to the EHS Staff
- Evaluate and act upon new environmental & safety regulations
- Conduct and/or participate in local and Corporate audits
- Manage the facility emergency response team
- Ensure continuous improvements (lean processes, savings, etc.)
What you will bring to Takeda:
- Bachelor degree in EHS area or engineering discipline
- Qualified as a safety professional
- > 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Understanding of pharmaceutical and regulated environment requirements
- Sound Knowledge of a EHS norms, policies and guidelines
- Knowledge of the GMP requirements
- Demonstrate solid business and technical knowledge
- Requires limited direction

- Possess strong knowledge of the policies, standards and procedures
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing
- Project or team leadership required
- Ability to lead, coach, motivate, inspire and influence
- Ability to accomplish results through others
- Ability to influence partners and key stakeholder groups
- Strong project management skills
- French and English speaking and writing
