Job Description
In this role and working with the other members of the design team, you will design and manage HV Systems and Components, including plant and installation engineering. First to define the system requirements, design sub-systems and component definitions needed for it’s realisation, and finally managing the design integration.

Essential responsibilities
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will have the following qualification and experience:
- A first degree in electrical engineering. (Or equivalent experience)
- More than 5 years’ experience working in a role where you are the design and delivery of HV systems for an HVDC Project, and have a strong working knowledge of the following topics:
- HV Components – equipments and systems
- Station layouts
- MEP & CW system Interfaces
- Statutory compliances
- Quality processes
- Scheduling of engineering activities, managing interfaces
- Representing to client and other stake holders the integrated overall primary systems
- The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HV Engineering & system networks, and the equipment available to realise the design. You will also have a working knowledge of related standards and documents, such as IEC-62271, in order to understand the design constraints that need to be adhered too.
- You will be confident to discuss these topics with internal stakeholders & customers and be able to propose solutions or improvements needed to create successful designs that can then be delivered.
- You will be a team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills, be capable of self-management, and have a high degree of flexibility, resilience and a self-learning attitude.
- Experience in technical problem solving
- Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution industry
- Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period and to travel worldwide.
