We hire a technician in the laboratory of Endometriosis and Gynaecological Oncology (EndoGO, Prof Mueller's laboratory) to support research projects and the functioning of the laboratory. Our research unit is part of the Inselspital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and focuses particularly on endometriosis. Endometriosis is characterized by extra-uterine invasion and growth of endometrial tissue which is associated with chronic pain, fatigue, irregular bleeding, and infertility. Our goal is to compare biological samples from women with and without endometriosis to identify variations that could explain the disease's development, progression, and symptoms.
What you can expect
- Biobanking: process, label and store biological samples
- Laboratory maintenance: control stocks and laboratory equipments
- Research: assist researchers with various molecular and cellular biology tasks: cell and organoid cultures, immunoassay, immunofluorescence, PCR, western blot, confocal microscopy and FACS.
Your Profile
- Education and training: Biology laboratory technician (CFC) or medical laboratory technician diploma will be preferred. Individuals with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology and a demonstrated interest in a technical career path are eligible to apply.
- Possesses a research-oriented, meticulous, and accurate approach.
- Demonstrates flexibility and availability for biobanking tasks as per the surgery schedule.
- Previous experience in BSL2 environments is advantageous.
- Exhibits a strong ability to work autonomously.
- Displays excellent interpersonal skills and thrives as a team player.
- English is mandatory. French would be an asset, but not mandatory.
