About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Solution Architect to join our team in Zurich. This hybrid role requires a strong background in AWS architecture and high-performance computing (HPC), as well as an aptitude for working in sales-driven environments. The ideal candidate will support technical sales motions, work closely with our Sales Manager, and collaborate with AWS on co-sell opportunities.

The role is hybrid, with 1-2 days per week onsite (either at our Zurich office or with customers), while the rest of the work can be conducted remotely with flexible working hours. Some evening meetings are required due to collaboration with our US-based team.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical expert in customer engagements, supporting sales discussions with deep AWS knowledge.
• Design and implement AWS cloud architectures tailored to customer needs, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Engage with technical and business stakeholders across various seniority levels, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Support co-sell motions with AWS, working closely with AWS teams and our internal sales function.
• Provide technical pre-sales support, including solution presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts.
• Advise customers on HPC (High-Performance Computing) solutions in AWS and optimize workloads for performance and cost.
• Stay up to date with AWS best practices and industry trends to provide innovative solutions.
• Lead infrastructure projects and oversee project work, from initial architecture design to implementation and optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance our cloud service offerings and delivery frameworks.

Required Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (Valid Certification is Mandatory).
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and AWS services.
• Expertise in HPC (High-Performance Computing) on AWS.
• Strong understanding of AWS networking, security, compute, and storage services.
• Proven Experience working in customer-facing roles, including pre-sales or consulting engagements.
• Fluent in both German and English, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Consulting, Financial Services, or Pharma industries.
• Familiarity with AWS co-selling and partner programs.
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization, FinOps, and compliance frameworks.
