MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.
METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.
- Create new business opportunities, develop and manage relationships on mid to long long-term in line with MET LNG desk strategy
- Strong understanding and view of mid to long-term supply and demand opportunities from a gas and LNG perspective
- Screening of counterparties for potential opportunities for mid to long-term sales and purchases
- Make/evaluate key terms proposals and HoAs, progress buyers and sellers to detailed contract negotiations
- Deliver commercial terms and secure binding commitments (period, prices, flexibility, etc)
- Manage the SPA negotiation process and align terms with the counterparty in line with MET LNG desk strategy and company guidelines
- Ensure understanding and adherence to MET policies, trading compliance policies and standards, and Code of Conduct
- Support the LNG trading and portfolio teams in making offers or bids in the mid and long-term for the region, including participation in tenders
- Progress counterparties in a timely manner internally and for MET externally with counterparties on documentation exchange (NDA/CA, KYC, etc.)
- Support deal booking process of contracts in the system once contracts are executed Act as contract manager for executed contracts (SPAs/HoAs/MoUs) once completed
- Other ad hoc tasks/projects to support the LNG business needs
- Several years of relevant experience in LNG-related business development or origination
- Proven track record in identifying and creating new business opportunities within LNG sector Strong understanding of mid to long-term supply and demand dynamics in the gas and LNG sector. Able to analyze and capitalize on emerging opportunities, ensuring a competitive edge in the market
- Skilled in screening potential counterparties for mid to long-term sales and purchases and ensuring long-lasting counterparty relationships
- Demonstrated ability to assess and manage risks
- Established professional network in the Turkish, Middle East and African region
- Strong interpersonal skills and business fluency in English and additional language relevant to the region covered
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in a relevant field
