The SIX M&A team is part of the Corporate Development unit within the CFO area of SIX. The team is responsible for the group-wide M&A activities as well as the corporate investment management. As the Head M&A you will lead a team of 5 M&A professionals and take ownership for M&A activities across the group. You will contribute significantly to the development of SIX and its business units by initiating and managing M&A projects, as well as contributing and supporting the management of SIX' portfolio of strategic minority investments.
M&A activities of SIX in the last years included amongst others the carve-out of SIX Payment Services and subsequent strategic partnership with Worldline, the acquisition of the Spanish stock exchange BME, as well as a number of add-on acquisitions and multiple strategic minority investments.
- Lead team of 5 M&A professionals in Switzerland and Spain
- Monitoring of relevant M&A developments in the FMI industry and sourcing of opportunities in close collaboration with business units
- Ensure quality and delivery of complex M&A projects, as well as presentation in internal decision bodies (SIX ExB and BoD)
- Support business units in the implementation of M&A based strategies, engage in regular dialogue with business units
- Ownership for corporate investment management (minority participations), including potential representation of SIX on company boards
- University degree and/or higher education (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant working experience in M&A, experience in Financial Markets Infrastructure is a plus
- Experience in executive level presentations as well as managing a team
- Flexible and team-oriented person with very good communication skills
- Very result-oriented working style and strong determination to achieve goals with high quality standards
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills
- Full professional fluency in English, German and/or Spanish are a plus
