Focuslight Switzerland is one of the leading manufacturers of high-end micro-optics, with extensive experience in optical design, micro-manufacturing, and metrology. We specialize in producing micro-optical components for a wide range of applications, including photolithography, optical networks, medical technologies, and metrology.
As we continue to innovate and grow, we are currently seeking a:
Job Description:
- Use imprint, lithography, etching, and metrology to develop new masking techniques that enhance the optical function of micro-optical components.
- Design and conduct experiments based on physics and chemistry principles, interpreting results using first principles.
- Develop and build etching tools with in-situ monitoring and control to accelerate new etched optics product development.
- Document and accumulate knowledge from rapid and low-cost failures, supporting continuous learning and improvement.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities, product optimization, and re-qualification processes.
- Work on methodologies for lean manufacturing to optimize production efficiency.
- Train and supervise technical staff, ensuring high standards and knowledge transfer.
- Create, update, and maintain working instructions and process documentation.

Professional Skills:
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Microtechnology, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of microtechnology fabrication processes for optical components.
- Experience in metrology and characterization of micro- and nanostructures.
- Specialized in methods of etching and imprint technology at the wafer level.
- Expertise in thin film technology.
- Familiarity with fabrication technologies in the semiconductor industry.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in German and French as a plus.
