Role Overview
The Senior FLIGHT DECK Practitioner will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Avionics using the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) are met. The practitioner will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement lean methodologies, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment and sustainment of the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model across various departments and teams.
- Conduct value stream mapping, identify waste, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Facilitate kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to educate and engage employees in lean principles and practices.
- Develop and implement standard work procedures to ensure consistency and quality in operations.
- Utilize lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, and root cause analysis to drive problem-solving and process optimization.
- Collaborate with leadership to align lean initiatives with business goals and objectives.
- Mentor and coach team members to build lean capabilities and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all lean activities prioritize safety and comply with regulatory and company standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lean transactional, engineering, or continuous improvement roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business
- 8+ years of experience in lean transactional, engineering, or continuous improvement roles within the aerospace industry
- Proven track record of leading successful lean initiatives and driving measurable improvements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex processes
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Certification in Lean or Six Sigma (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
