Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations, and overall handle the automation for the full application lifecycle in the IT Risk Modelling area.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be an expert in Docker, Microsoft Azure, Networking, Python and .NET, and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.

The Senior DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions, especially when it comes to the IT infrastructural architecture and cost saving strategies and optimizations.

Responsibilities

The list below applies to all the following applications: ICM, Cembalo, NORMA, ERIS, ParkingMeter, SolvencyRatio, ILIAS EV, and all the services surrounding such as logging, monitoring, instrumentation, collaboration to DXC and other DevOps teams.

• Strictly follow guidelines, standards and recommendations provided by IT Operations Chapter and work on synergies around the different existing “CI factories”
• Responsible for automation (CI/CD processes) using AzureDevOps or other automation tools during the full application lifecycle.
• Responsible for the infrastructure provisioning, configuration, build and application deployment on Microsoft Azure for a set of .NET/Docker/Python applications running on Linux
• Operational support including application monitoring and troubleshooting
• Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability
• Work collaboratively with the IT Operations team
• Work collaboratively in architecting/developing solutions with the development team
• Working and supporting the developers on their daily duties.
• Optimizing the infrastructure cost by finding cost effective solutions
• Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions
• Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
• Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience as a Senior DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role
• Thorough knowledge of Python, Docker and Linux is essential
• Expert in code deployment and automation tools and languages (Ansible/SaltStack/Terraform)
• Proficient understanding and working experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) or other cloud providers
• Proficient understanding of Git and DevOps standards and Agile principles
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit
• Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
