As the R&D Engineer (Packaging), you will be responsible for leading the successful development and implementation of new packaging designs, executing tests and ensuring appropriate industry and corporate standards are met. Working with and developing strong relationships with all internal and external business partners to develop package designs for new products launches.

Main responsibilities will include:

Participate as a team member and leader on product design teams and performs all related packaging functions, including design, analysis and technical writing.

Coordinate and perform package testing for distribution and integrity tests.

Initiate new or revised documentation and track through appropriate approval cycles and implementation.

Maintain a professional working relationship with internal and external customers and support staff.

Understand and follow company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Participate in and provide inputs to department and division procedures, and policies.

Analyse problems in design and process development and recommend solutions.

Prepare and present oral and written project updates and technical discussions.

Travel to other BD sites, conferences, or training events where needed.
About you:
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging or BSME or a similar subject.
-
Experience within an R&D Engineering environment is desirable.
-
Package design or package testing environment is distinct advantage.
-
Experience with medical grade packaging materials.
-
Firsthand experience with ASTM procedures related to package testing is a distinct advantage.

FDA Quality System Requirements and GMP experience.

Packaging equipment process experience. Including IQ, OQ and PQ.

Understanding of the packaging supplier manufacturing processes

Ability to specify appropriate packaging materials for optimal designs.

Proficient with MS Office Suite.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build working relationship with colleague at all levels across the business.

Strong technical writing skills.
