The Faculty of Arts of the University of Lausanne invites applications for a fixed-term Lecturer in modern English literature in the English Department.
Information
Expected start date in position : 1 August 2025
Contract length : Two-year contract, renewable two years once only. In the context of academic planning, this post is not intended to be stabilised.
Activity rate : 80%
Workplace : UNIL-Dorigny
Your responsibilities
Teaching load of 4 hours per week (BA or MA level seminars).
Supervision of students, support for exams.
Individual research.
Participation in the research activities and administration of the Section.
Your qualifications
Doctor of Arts in modern English literature (thesis submitted upon taking office).
The candidate must have at least two peer-reviewed articles published, upon taking office. Furthermore the candidate should have a well-developed post-doctoral project underway, ideally with a publisher’s contract already under negotiation or secured. Preference will be given to candidates specialising in 19C poetry.
The candidate must have a proven track record of teaching university-level courses in 19C English literature, especially poetry, as well as a strong interest in collaboration with other disciplines.
Applicants should either already be proficient in French or willing to acquire French proficiency.
