Senior Virtual Infrastructure Engineer Description
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Virtual Infrastructure Engineer to join EPAM and contribute to our financial services client’s team in Zurich working in a hybrid environment.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in VMware and Microsoft Azure technologies, playing a crucial role in the management and optimization of the virtualized infrastructure. This position involves collaborating efficiently with various technical teams and requires excellent technical and communicative abilities.

Responsibilities
- Enhance and optimize infrastructure performance through migrations of hosts and virtual machines
- Use HPE StoreServ Management Console to manage storage arrays, ensuring their effective configuration and maintenance
- Handle installations of new hosts, virtual volumes and manage Blade movements and Synergy profiles
- Administer daily tasks such as virtualization deletions, migrations, and incident investigations to ensure smooth operations
- Manage and oversee patch updates for ESXi hosts to ensure system security and functionality
- Install and manage Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure VMware Solution to integrate and utilize advanced cloud technologies
Requirements
- Proficiency in VMware technologies such as VMware vSphere, VMware vCenter Server, VMware Realize Automation, and VMware ESXi
- Significant experience with Microsoft Azure, covering Azure VMware Solutions, Azure Stack HCI, and Azure Kubernetes Service
- Background in installation, management and troubleshooting of ESXi hosts (versions 6.5-7.0) within extensive infrastructures
- Detailed knowledge and hands-on experience with HPE hardware and management tools including HPE OneView, Composer and SSMC
- Familiarity with enterprise-level patch management procedures for virtual environments
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell
- Ability to work autonomously with strict deadlines and as part of a team
- Proficient communication skills in English
