Your role and responsibilities

As a Project Engineer in Power Systems at ABB, a global leader in technology, electrification, automation, and digitalization, you will be part of a dynamic international project team, playing a crucial role in providing innovative technical solutions for our clients.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.You will be mainly accountable for:• Collaborating with project team members across various disciplines (including control systems, infrastructure, drives, etc.) to ensure seamless integration towards power distribution systems.• Working on the development of Power Distribution designs and support to technical sales, from conceptual to detailed stages, for a broad spectrum of equipment such as MV switch-gears, power and distribution transformers, Neutral Earthing Resistors, DC power Supply, Pow-er Factor Correction, Harmonic Filters, contributing actively to design reviews, leveraging your expertise to clarify technical aspects of the projects.• Preparing and reviewing a wide range of technical documents, including specifications, single line diagrams, Functional descriptions, Power System Protection Philosophy, Digital Protection relay logics and IEC61850 Engineering.• Engaging proactively with equipment suppliers from the procurement to manufacturing phases to ensure the equipment delivery aligns with project requirements.

Qualifications for the role

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with focus on power distribution or similar field
• 5+ years of experience in the field of power systems, working as team lead, senior project engineer or project lead engineer
• Sound knowledge in energy distribution concepts, power quality, electrical network studies, sizing and specifying of primary equipment, secondary control, and protection
• Experience in the EPCM business is a plus
• A high level of self-motivation and curiosity, and a desire to learn about new technologies
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
• Fluency in English, other languages are a plus
