Purpose/Context:
To manage the statutory filings for a country, including taxes and statutory accounting plus any additional local requirements. Ensuring all filings are timely, accurate, complete and compliant with the relevant statutory requirements for that country. Assist with local audits as required. This is a part time job (50%).
- Acts as the statutory filing subject matter expert for a country
- Supports all legal entities of the country
- Work within internal business reporting and external statutory timeframes
- Requires a hands-on approach
- Close collaboration with other teams involved in data extraction and filing preparation (i.e. the global and local shared service centres).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain up to date documentation of local statutory requirements (deadlines, requirements, adjustments etc)
- Review and/or prepare data required for the completion of all tax and statutory filings (Note: the level of hands-on preparation is dependent on the country requirements and the practical cover of each task within the shared service centres)
- Proactively file all requirements locally with the authorities
- Manage local audits
- Act as the local expert, communicating with authorities or auditors as needed
- Build proactive working relationships with the shared service centres
- Assist with company secretarial activities, specific to the country
- Undertake a range of other adhoc activities as the local country finance representative (i.e. one-off admin tasks required onsite or with local language dependencies)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tax and/or accounting qualification
- 10 years + experience, including recent experience in a similar level role
- Technically strong, with a working knowledge of local GAAP.
- Proven ability to meet statutory taxation obligations
- Extensive experience of producing Statutory Accounts and Annual Reports
- Language ability for the country being supported (i.e. this is the key reason the roles will be dispersed across many countries) plus fluent in English
- Flexible approach, adaptable to change
- Excellent communication skills – will need to be very good at working remotely but interacting effectively with our global and local service centres in Manila and Barcelona.
