This position is located in Investigative and Immunosafety, a department within the Pharmaceutical Sciences function. We drive the non-clinical safety assessment of drug candidates from small molecules to complex biological products during the discovery and development phases at Roche.
The Opportunity
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Predictive Safety Analyst with expertise in genetic toxicology to design and execute preclinical models to support prioritization and de-risking of novel therapeutic agents throughout the drug discovery and development process. The predictive safety analyst is accountable for the scientific and operational delivery of modern regulated and non-regulated genetic toxicology assays to inform risk assessment of discovery and development projects. In this role, you will also drive the design, execution and development of advanced methods in genetic toxicology (eg., for novel modalities such as cell and gene therapy) and the application of these to inform decision-making. In addition to regular genetic toxicology assays, other similar assays are in scope, e.g. phototoxicity. This position will work closely with stakeholders from several disciplines including toxicology project leaders, small molecule research, DMPK, and immunosafety.

You propose, conduct and report investigative toxicology strategies to understand mechanisms of genetic toxicity.

You contribute to the advancement of Genetic Toxicology Science and its application to emerging modalities and treatment paradigms

You support the development and automation of predictive safety models

You are accountable for the scientific delivery of modern regulated and/or non-regulated toxicology assays to inform risk assessment of discovery and development projects.

Who you are
-
You hold a university degree in a scientific discipline to a PhD level or advanced degree in toxicology with equivalent working experience in Genetic Toxicology

You bring a minimum of 3 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry

You have a proven track record in designing and implementing genetic toxicology strategies

You have a proven track record in designing and implementing genetic toxicology testing strategies

You are experienced with new technologies applied to Genetic Toxicology e.g. flow cytometry, high-content imaging, error-corrected sequencing, and omics

You bring knowledge of drug development. Experience in bioinformatics is of benefit

You demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills
