Leadership and Management

• Positioned as expert lead in master data analytics

• Ensure operation excellence of all finance master data to reporting definition for the finance data objects in scope

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across master data reporting enablement and act as the main contact for the business on master data usage to meet reporting requirements

Performance Management and Service Delivery

• Act as an escalation path for issues and work with the Global team to ensure that appropriate troubleshooting efforts are conducted for recurring problems until permanent solutions are implemented

• Monitor, implement and publish KPI’s for associated data objects

• Work with the business, IT, data specialists, and other relevant team members to ensure enhancements are implemented in a timely fashion

• Ensure master data is used according to reporting definition

• Follow up on master data issues identified, provide feedback and advise entities with corrections in order to achieve reporting data quality

Compliance

• For master data objects in scope, collaborates with other team members to ensure processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined and fully documented, in line with Finance Process Center standards

• Ensure compliance with GPOs, Alcon Controllers Manual, Alcon Manual of Accounting, Financial Controls Manual and regulatory requirements

• Ensure application of agreed control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certification

• Promotes a strong control environment, follows up on audit issues and implements correcting measures

People

• Actively support working culture by participating, being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon’s values and behaviors

• Set goals, performs self assessment and provides feedback

• Provide mentoring, guidance and feedback to direct reports, if applicable, to support long-term career development of key talent

• Participates in opportunities for learning and self-development

• Resolve issues; maintain standards and guidelines and support running the mechanics of the data governance processes

• Support in the identification team training needs and shares information with onsite teams and with counterparts in the other regions

• Complies with local return to office requirements as needed

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Education:

• University level degree in Business Administration / Economics / Finance or Chartered Accountant / IT or related / MBA desirable

• Lean / Six Sigma Certified preferred

Languages:             

• Fluent in English both written and spoken

• Other languages are a plus but not required

Experience:             

• 6+ years of finance functional expertise with exposure to Master Data and financial reporting

• SAP and BI experience

• Blackline Account Reconciliation, Smart Close would be desirable but not required

• Understanding of how master data objects affect reporting

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization

• Experience in project management and project implementation

• Experience in managing enhancements and projects Driving performance improvement
