Job Description Summary

The candidate should be knowledgeable on P6, with good dynamics and communication / coordination capabilities, very comfortable with side construction environment (hands on), also acquainted with electrical substations, at least AC substations.
Knowledge on HVDC converter station would be a plus.
The Project site planner is a member of the project core team:
• The successful candidate will own & drive the project construction execution schedule to maximise results, facilitating delivery of the project on time, within budget, in conformity with the contract whilst managing the customer expectations.
• She / he is part of the Project Controls function and is expected to manage project schedules in accordance with the established global process, tools, metrics and operating rhythms.

- The candidate should be proficient in P6, with exceptional interpersonal skillset to interact across all the organisation function leaders and the regional leadership.
- He is comfortable in leading a medium size Project Controls team.
- He shall have an overarching view of the project controls impact in the execution of large projects and influence major decisions on those projects.
- His technical background and HVDC experience support strategic orientations aiming at delivering such complex project on time and in budget, despite the various external factors and risks.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Leads the Project Controls team on large and complex HVDC projects, and ensures efficiency and effectiveness of that team.
- Builds the project baseline gaining approval of client and internal stakeholders.
- Maintains project schedule with periodic updates, including resource forecasts throughout the project lifecycles.
- Identifies activities prerequisites and help anticipate blockers with wider project team and third parties.
- Drive and challenge progress, agree forecast and develop mitigations / catch up plans.
- Ensure schedule analysis through various means (schedule movements, S curve, commodity curve, OTD, Say/Do ratio, overplanning, resource loading, productivity…) to determine project schedule trends and related risks & opportunities then work with project team members to drive mitigation strategies.
- Provides comprehensive dashboard and evidence to PD for subsequent decision / escalation.
- Leads collaboration with functional task and resource owners to find strategies to optimise durations and manhours.
- Ensures that forecast task durations and logic are understood and committed by the task owners.
- Presents all time schedule data in a transparent way, attends project and management reviews to present schedule status, describe trends and forecasts / landing, make proposals and influence strategic decisions.
- Produces and communicates internal project reporting of project status.
- Produces contractually required customer reporting and is able to communicate directly with customers on scheduling matters.
- Leads collaboration with 3rd parties on project schedule interfaces including maintenance of an interface register.
- Maintains a register of potential schedule and cost risks in collaboration with the Risk Manager.
- Provides time related calculations to ensure change order schedule / cost estimates are accurate.
- Aligns with Cost Controller to ensure reconciliation between P6 schedule and approved cost phasing.
- Generates what if” scenarios to optimize execution and works with project teams to evaluate feasibility.
- Support disputes and analysis of EOT claims, develop forensic analysis.
- Takes full responsibility for the Project Controls output for the assigned HVDC project in close coordination with his Project Director.
Educational / Experience Requirements
- Degree qualified either in engineering or project management with extensive of experience in planning management, including 3 years in electrical substations.
- Robust experience in Primavera P6 user (Essential).
- Extensive experience in planning large turnkey projects, in international and multicultural environment.
- Demonstrable experience in applying forensic analysis and leading EOT claims preparation on large and complex turnkey projects.
- Experience managing small teams within a large project.
- Experience of cost control function and interface with schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for cross functional and leadership interaction / good communicator / anticipation and problem-solving aptitude / team spirit / resilient.
- Analytical / contributes to the decision making. Provides solutions and alternatives.
- Autonomous and reliable.
- Customer focus.
- Previous experience in building complex, integrated schedules for tenders and in HVDC technology is Advantageous.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and tools, quantitative risk analysis is Advantageous.
