As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.

Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).

Your responsibilities

►Ensure and enable the availability and the appropriate usage of the Digital Mock Up (DMU) needed for the end to end AW09 development and future projects

►Contribute to deploy innovative Digital and support PLM Process/Methods/Tools related to DMU Management

►Interact with the design engineers, during the design process, review and support the part definition to ensure data quality of parts including drawings

►Support the technical ad-hoc meetings with affected stakeholders in case of interface discrepancies

►Support Interface Control Models (ICM) / Interface Control Documents (ICD)

►Support and cooperate with Aircraft Integration Team to develop the AW09 change process

Your qualifications, experience

►University degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar

►Minimum 3 years of professional experience as Mechanical Design Engineer covering activities such as drafting, creating and checking mechanical design drawings on parts, assemblies and installations level

►Aerospace experience

►Proficient in using Siemens NX and Teamcenter (PLM)

►Ability to prepare written reports of DMU and interface status

►Willing to challenge and continue to improve methods and best practice

►English, minimum B2 (verbal & written)
