PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Head of HR – Group Headquarters & Global Functions is responsible for leading and managing the HR processes for Global Functions and Avolta’s HQ in Basel. In addition to managing a department of 3 team members, s/he designs and implements organizational management strategies and initiatives and supports the design of HRIS and global HR programs. The position holder manages the employee life cycle, from onboarding to exit, including succession planning, retention, performance and talent management. S/he will also support employee development and future learning and development plans. This position is based in Basel, Switzerland, and requires on-site presence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Business Partner
Collaborates with business leaders in Global Functions as HR business partner to support organizational and operational HR business needs
Develops and manages the implementation of the HR strategy, including integration, transformation, and synergy plans to support Avolta’s goals
Develops and implements solutions and guidelines for organizational and people related challenges
Provides HR expertise based on an in-depth understanding of the business
Ensures the communication between HR and business is timely and clear
Onboarding and Exit
Ensures qualitative orientation programs for new hires and employee exit review analysis
Finalizes offer letters and employment processes for new hires and promotions
Performance Management
Monitors performance and MBO process, including managing performance reviews, bonus and disciplinary processes
Collaborates with management and staff to ensure performance optimization and provides strategic and operational HR counseling
Learning and Development
Supports global business functions with onboarding, learning and development programs and succession planning
Compensation and Rewards
Manages payroll, social insurances and coordinates the annual salary review process
Maintains compliance with local regulations and legislation concerning employment
Maintains market focused compensation and incentives programs
Reporting
Is responsible for maintaining high quality HR standards as it relates to HR metrics
Does workforce planning and budgeting, HR controlling and reporting
General
Provides leadership, coaching and supervision to the competence center and participates in developing Global HR standards
Ensures effective personnel administration and control of HR expenditure and shared service providers within agreed budgets
Adapts and ensures all company policies and procedures are understood and adhered by staff and managers, while maintaining a high level of compliance with all laws and balancing the business needs within the parameters and general guidance from Avolta
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, HR or Organizational Development; further professional certifications and/or senior level, executive development/leadership trainings are of value
5 years+ of experience in a similar role, with exposure to all functional areas in an international environment; (travel) retail and/or food & beverage exposure are a plus
Fluency in English, German would be an asset
Ability to build relationships and establish trust and respect, strong customer focus, experience in Change Management
