Your tasks

The main tasks to which you will devote your time are:

• Lead and mentor a team of five R&D project managers in Herisau, with potential expansion to Poland
• Oversee the full lifecycle of R&D projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, on-budget and high-quality results
• Implement standardized project management methodologies and tools to increase efficiency and consistency
• Main point of contact between cross-functional teams (Product Management, Design, Process Engineering) to align project goals and ensure smooth communication
• Manage resource allocation and project budgets
• Identify risks early, proactively address challenges, and create contingency plans to keep projects on track
• Foster innovation and a culture of continuous improvement focused on customer satisfaction
• Occasional global travel activities

Your profile

We are looking for a pragmatic, hands-on team player with a global mindset and the following profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of R&D leadership experience, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall); certification is a plus
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration in a matrix organization
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with a focus on efficient project goal achievement
• Innovative thinker with a passion for delivering high impact results
• Fluency in English and German is a must
