The Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) R&D User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer Specialist is responsible for creating attractive digital experiences using inventiveness for solving technical challenges to create something innovative and unique. As a UI/UX Designer Specialist, you are conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes of the product and iterate upon it to ensure a great user experience for the K-C Research & Development (R&D) capability area and in some cases, cross capability areas.
The Scrum Master will work closely with a dedicated team of analysts, architects, engineers, and developers to drive the Agile development of custom web applications that will be used internally by Research & Development stakeholders.
Key Interfaces: Product stakeholders and customers, Product Owners, Product Managers, Delivery Leadership, Agile Teams Travel may include approximately 10-20% of work time.
Main responsibilities:

The Scrum Master serves the DTS R&D Software Engineering team by Coaching the team members in self-management and cross-functionality. Coaching them on organizing themselves to choose how best to accomplish their work, rather than being directed by others outside the team and Coaching them to optimize flexibility, creativity, and productivity.

Helps the Agile Delivery Team focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the Definition of Done. Helps the team adopt growth mindset, iterative and incremental approach, practice customer collaboration in building the product, empiricism, continuous feedback and learning and continuous improvement.

Causing the Removal of Impediments to the Agile Delivery Team’s progress. Provides guidance, coaching, support and facilitation, and helps remove any obstacles that teams may encounter along the way.

Ensuring that all Scrum and Agile events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox. Facilitating stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed. Driving a Continuous Improvement culture in the team (Product team or Agile team as the case may be) through tools like Retrospectives, Team Spirit Metric, Agile KPIs, Health and Maturity Assessment and Team enablement (please refer to the agile playbook for information on these tools).

Helps those outside the Agile Delivery Team understand which of their interactions with the Agile Delivery Team are helpful and which aren’t. The Scrum Master helps everyone change these interactions to maximize the value created by the Agile Delivery Team.

The Scrum Master serves the Product Owner in several ways by Helping find techniques for effective Product Backlog management by: Helping the Product Owner in focusing the backlog on the next major release, having a backlog that is coarse at the bottom and fine at the top, regularly refining the backlog by breaking big items into smaller and independent ones, identifying dependencies, ensuring high priority items are ready for sprint planning and making the backlog visible & transparent to the Agile Delivery Team.

Helping establish empirical product planning for a complex environment where work is divided into smaller working bits, planning is based on the evaluation of the result of these bits (inspection and adaptation), improvement and direction is guided by experiments, examples and experience. This makes it easy for the team to start without having all information available/visible/understood, thereby allowing the team space and an opportunity to adjust as they learn.

The Scrum Master serves the organization in several ways, including: Leading, training, and coaching the organization in its Agile adoption; Planning and advising Agile implementations within the organization; Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work; and, Removing barriers between stakeholders and the Agile Delivery Team. Helps create an environment that is creative, safe, productive and supportive and enables multi-directional collaboration.

The Scrum Master leads and facilitates daily scrum ceremonies, identifies areas of improvement, works as the administrator of the scrum board, and regularly analyzes burndown chards and other tools to track progress.

Identify and implement metrics that drive quality, delivery, and change for an initiative. Develop, track, and publish qualitative and quantitative metrics, dashboards, etc. to communicate progress to stakeholders. Guide teams in establishing and following effective processes to manage planning, development, and deployment;

Assess the Agile maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable for the team and organization.

Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and sharing of information.
Key Qualifications and Experiences:

Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical discipline with a development background
-
7+ years' total experience in Software Industry.
-
3 years of Scrum Master experience; 5 years of experience on Agile Delivery Teams; 2 years of project management experience (preferred).

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification with expertise in guiding team and enterprise level transitions to Scrum, XP and Continuous Delivery principles and practices Certified SAFe Scrum Master certification is required.

Experience with Craft.io or Azure DevOps (ADO) for product management preferred, including the ability to setup new projects, create dashboards, and report KPIs.

Excellent understanding of agile metrics (e.g. how to build a burn-down, track velocity/cycle time, backlog tracking, and task definition).

Experience and ability to develop high performing teams by promoting and supporting Agile Ways of Working and Agile mindset, values, principles, and practices.

Demonstrated experience in leading Agile teams and related large groups with confidence, such as through Quarterly (PI) Planning and other Agile/Scrum Events.

Expertise in facilitating and driving continuous improvement changes, especially as it relates to software development. Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive issues to completion.

Exceptional facilitation skills: must be able to lead and demonstrate value add principles with transparency (e.g. desire to bring transparency and grow trust).

Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration at all levels.
