Carl Zeiss Vision, a global leading and innovative Foundation in optical lens and diagnostic optical instrument business, is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to service optometrists and opticians in East-Africa. The applicant will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Responsibilities
- Deliver growth by regularly visiting existing customers in East-Africa.
- Prospect, open and develop new accounts within East-Africa.
- Present new and current products.
- Support the customer with product, sales, and order process training.
- Initiate and support marketing promotions of the customers to ensure brand visibility and sales.
- Work in the field with customers in their own outlets to improve sales processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service and “partner” with customers.
- Ability to actively close sales.
- Ability to utilize reports and presentations to effectively manage the customer relationship.
- Support the customers with registration of instruments and lenses.
- Reports on regular basis to the Regional Sales Manager.
Preferred qualifications
- Ability to digest, comprehend, and verbalize highly technical products.
- Demonstrated professional sales skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills. French and Swahili is a plus.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Good knowledge of the optical business.
- Must be willing and able to travel in East-Africa with hotel stays on a regular basis.
- A driver license is a plus.
Education
- Experienced (minimum 5 years) Sales agent in the optical field, optometrist, or optician.
