RESCUE SPECIALIST (Geneva - Switzerland)
Under the supervision of the Head of Operational Safety, the Rescue Specialist applies his/her expertise and knowledge to improve rescue response on all motorsport disciplines worldwide, ranging from national to World Championship level.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
The successful applicant will apply their experience, expertise and knowledge to improve the operational side of FIA World Championship rescue and medical crews and disseminate rescue best practice to clubs and event organizers around the world. He/she will be responsible for the successful implementation of rescue-related projects within the Operational Safety Group and provide administrative support of the FIA Medical Commission. The position requires the application of sound operational judgement, project management experience and knowledge of motor sport event organisation. This position encompasses all FIA sporting disciplines. Travel to events will be required.
- Oversee research projects related to the improvement of operational safety including rescue protocols, procedures and equipment, working in collaboration with the FIA Research Group, external agencies and industry partner
- Take an active role in the investigation of accident
- Support the FIA World Championship rescue and medical crews regarding operational procedures, training and procurement
- Collaborate with the FIA Official Suppliers of rescue and medical equipment on a range of projects
- Develop and maintain best practice guidelines and other communication content related to medical intervention under race conditions
- Administrative support for the FIA Medical Commission including the organisation of medical seminars and workshops around the world
- Draft new, and update current regulations to support the development of the medical and rescue aspects of various Sporting Regulations and the Appendices of the International Sporting Code
- Take part in meetings of the relevant FIA Commissions and working groups
PROFILE:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading and managing rescue teams in an operational fire and rescue and/or motorsports environment
- Experience in project management including tracking milestones and delivering objectives
- Studies related to business management or health-related science would be an advantage
- Operational experience working with an ASN or sporting federation
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating, delivering and quality assuring training content and drafting of medical and regulatory documents
- Excellent English skills (additional proficiency in another European language would be a plus).
- Position based in Geneva, Switzerland with some travel required
