Job Description

This role is designed for professionals with a passion for project management and a commitment to excellence in delivering services to our business clients. The Project Manager oversees the project from inception (team assembly, budget analysis, and initiating the project kick-off with the team and client) through the entire project lifecycle, culminating in its completion and formal closure.

In this role you would report into our Delivery Management Director.

We offer this role in a hybrid work environment, where you can plan when to work from the office in Zurich.

Here are some of the exciting tasks awaiting you:

  • Assemble a diverse project team and craft a comprehensive project delivery plan.
  • Understand the contractual nuances of each project.
  • Oversee daily project management tasks.
  • Consistently report on project status and progress to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Implement and manage processes for risk, issue, and change during the project lifecycle.
  • Secure client approval for both partial and complete project deliverables.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with agreed timelines, quality standards, budget, and profitability targets.
  • Lead and deliver projects of varying sizes, potentially as part of a larger program.
  • Manage and support team members, both locally and remotely.
  • Foster collaboration with clients, third-party team members, and suppliers.
  • Adhere to the company’s project management protocols and methodologies.
  • Engage in business development activities to uncover new opportunities.
  • Contribute to the proposal process and offer development.
  • Enhance and share project management expertise within the Merkle framework.
  • Provide general consulting services.
  • Develop straightforward concepts and specifications.

Qualifications

A mix of the following is the person we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience leading projects of various scopes within a sizable program.
  • A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively at regional and international levels.
  • Proficient in relationship building across all organizational tiers.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • A strategic mindset with a focus on sales and business development.
  • Certification as a Scrum Master, other certification a plus (e.g. Prince2, PMP, Agile PM, IPMA).
  • Familiarity with contemporary project management methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Agile).
  • A degree from an accredited institution or equivalent educational experience.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
