Arxada is looking for a Material Planning Team Leader based in Visp. You will be responsible for the team which ensures the efficient and effective planning of materials needed for production. This role involves analyzing demand, managing inventory, coordinating internal shipments, and liaising with operations, procurement, and production planning to align material requirements with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and forecast material requirements based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and historical data.
- Develop and maintain material requirement plans to meet production schedules and customer requirements
- Collaborate with sales/procurement/planning teams to understand and anticipate changes in demand
- Generate and manage purchase requisitions to ensure timely procurement of materials
- Coordinate with procurement team to ensure availability of materials to meet production needs
- Monitor and expedite orders as needed to prevent production delays
- Identify and implement inventory reduction and optimization strategies
- Track and report on rework material status and results
- Coordinate internal material movements between plant locations to support production requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate movement of materials within the plant
- Manage the posting and closing of process orders to ensure accurate production records
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to address material planning issues and develop solutions
- Develop, coach and guide team of planners in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals, advances succession planning by holding career conversations with staff
Key Requirements:
- BSc. in Supply Chain Logistics
- 5+ years of work experience
- Ability to quickly adjust plans and actions in response to changing requirements and unforeseen circumstances
- Proactive approach to identifying and efficiently resolving material planning issues
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights for effective material planning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and information sharing
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to meet the needs of internal customers such as production and operations teams
- Make informed decisions based on data analysis and business needs to support effective material planning
- Good knowledge of SAP, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical skills; the ability to present data in meaningful way and leverage to drive continuous improvement
- Hands on mentality
- Fluent in German and English
