Senior Vice President, Hotel Market Partnerships
Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences, driving growth for partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and industry-leading advertising. This team also sources member benefits for One KeyTM, the travel industry's largest and most flexible rewards program, enabling Expedia Group’s 100 million-plus members to earn and redeem rewards across EG’s brands.
As the Senior Vice President of Hotel Market Partnerships, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction for Expedia Group’s Marketplace across its Hotel brands to delight travelers and engage quality supply partners, to achieve financial targets, margin and profitable growth. In close partnership with Hotel Enterprise Partnerships, the SVP of Hotel Market Partnerships will influence design, product roadmaps, commercial partner engagement and coverage models, channel/partner marketing, tools and automation.
What you’ll do:
- Scope: Leads a global distributed and differentiated organization of 1300 FTEs, Vendors and 25 Early in Career Graduates across 50 countries.
- Align Business Strategy to Sales Strategy and Execution: Strategic thinking, focused on the future needs to grow the business; i.e., understand market trends and impact on business and influence the investments being made to keep ahead of competition. Evaluate strategic opportunities for profitable growth.
- Drive Commercial Excellence: Strong commercial mindset and expert knowledge to lead the org and deliver healthy growth; coaching focused on negotiations, analytics, problem solving and relationship building. Able to travel extensively.
- Influence Enterprise Relationships both Internally and with Partners: Build enterprise relationships with Product & Tech, Marketing, and our Brands to influence the products for customers and partners.
- Strong presence and thought leadership in the travel and hospitality industry: Speaking engagements at large industry events, podcasts, etc.
- Orchestrate Data-Driven Problem Solving and Decision Making: Understand and analyse financial modelling of commercial deals, variable scenario planning and be comfortable with the numbers and outcomes (sensitivity analysis)
- Manage through tensions: Level-headed. Manage the pressure of attention from C-suite and board. Work and lead in an environment of constant tension from business and partners - be comfortable with uncomfortable.
- Establish Performance Metrics: Regularly evaluate performance against targets against established financial KPIs.
- Ensure Global Alignment: Foster consistency and alignment across diverse markets while allowing for local nuances.

Functional Expertise
- Commercial Leadership: Seasoned commercial leader with proven expertise in travel technology and supply leading large complex and distributed teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to shape the strategic direction for Expedia Group’s Marketplace across Hotels to delight travelers and engage supply.
- B2C and B2B: Business to Consumer and Business to Business experiences required as well as industry expertise.
- Negotiations: Experience managing and negotiating complex partner agreements with long sales cycles.
- Multi-channel Partner Engagement: Deep knowledge and experience of the product mechanics, channel/partner marketing, and operations to continually sell through the contract lifecycle.
- Global mindset: Experience doing business in different parts of the world to be able to influence global expansion of the brands/supply. Cultural sensitivity is critical.
- Prioritization: Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of flexibility and accountability, in a constantly fast-evolving environment.
- Results Oriented: Motivated to achieve big goals and continuously improve, by inspiring the team and the wider organization.
