Job Description

We are developing a commercial system to perform stainings on tissue sections. The working principle is based on the distribution of reagents through a microfluidic chip.

During your internship, you will work with other engineers on the development of microfluidic chips towards their industrialization and on the functional testing and characterization of the overall system. To do so, you will develop test setups and data analysis processes to guarantee the robustness, functionality, and reproducibility of the devices. Your tasks as an intern within the R&D hardware team will be:

  • Participate to the design, assembly, and testing of microfluidics chips, functional models, and prototypes.
  • Characterize microfluidic chips and devices by performing measurements, collecting data, and presenting it.
  • Support other R&D engineers on multidisciplinary projects.

At the end of the project, you will have had a first hands-on experience in the development and industrialization of microfluidic chips in an industrial environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in microtechnology, materials science, biomedical or mechanical engineering
  • Prior knowledge in microfluidics and lab work is a plus
  • Prior knowledge in optics and microscopy is a plus
  • Prior experience with CAD software and prototyping is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, able to quickly assimilate complex technical information
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic and organized individual, able to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment
  • A real team player, you are also comfortable working independently and autonomously
  • Fluency in both French and English is a must
