The Branding & Design team at DFINITY Foundation is seeking a highly creative and experienced Art Director to lead digital brand design initiatives. The ideal candidate will specialize in analyzing, evolving, and innovating brand identity systems to keep the Internet Computer and DFINITY Foundation at the forefront of digital-first brand storytelling and impact. As an Art Director, you'll lead projects from a creative perspective with the goal of consistently pushing creativity and quality to the max. This role involves strategic collaboration with our Branding & Design team, the Global Marketing & Adoption team, and R&D stakeholders to create dynamic and cohesive digital branding experiences that resonate with our audiences. Experience with digital branding trends, understanding of the Web3 space, and a vision for brand evolution are essential.
Key Background and Skills
The ideal candidate will be a digital branding visionary with a passion for evolving brand systems to create impactful digital experiences. They should have experience in creating and scaling digital-first brand identity systems, including defining brand guidelines, visual frameworks, and narrative structures. A focus on strategic, analytical approaches to visual design and a demonstrated ability to critically assess current branding trends and integrate innovative approaches are key. The candidate must be self-driven, communicative, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic analysis of the current brand identity and propose forward-looking brand concepts that explore new dimensions of the brand across digital touchpoints.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive and evolving digital brand system that guides consistent use of visual elements and flexibly adapts across web and mobile experiences.
- Lead projects creatively, ensuring creativity and quality are consistently pushed to the max.
- Create and craft impactful key visuals and bring brand concepts to life through compelling narratives and visual execution.
- Present ideas and creative direction to the design team and org-wide stakeholders, establishing productive relationships and encouraging collaborative feedback.
- Work closely with the website and marketing teams to ensure consistency in branding and digital strategy across internetcomputer.org, dfinity.org, and various landing pages.
- Drive creative direction and execution of high-quality visuals, including iconography, pictograms, and digital brand assets that strengthen the brand’s digital identity.
- Present brand concepts and strategic improvements to stakeholders effectively, advocating for a cohesive digital-first brand vision that aligns with the organization’s goals.
- Stay current with digital branding, technology, and design trends to keep brand assets innovative and relevant in a fast-evolving industry.
- Lead branding initiatives from a strategic concept phase through digital execution, ensuring all assets align with and elevate the brand's identity.
- Analyze digital branding performance and user feedback to refine brand solutions and enhance brand impact across digital channels.
- Collaborate closely with developers and technical teams to ensure precise digital implementation of branding elements and resolve design-related issues.
- Participate in strategy sessions to enhance digital branding workflows and user experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong passion for strategic digital branding and storytelling through brand identity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Brand Design, Digital Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in brand design, digital branding strategy, or brand evolution.
- Proficiency with Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite, with demonstrated expertise in developing scalable digital branding systems and assets.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing expertise in digital-first brand systems and branding assets that support an evolving and dynamic brand identity.
- Interest in understanding web technologies and user experience principles (no coding skills needed).
- Must include a portfolio, website, or other relevant links to your work in your application, providing viewable links and/or access instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience working in Web3 space, especially in digital branding.
- 1-2 years of experience in a lead brand strategy and design role.
- Experience in leading digital branding projects in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate strategy workshops to improve branding consistency across digital platforms.
