Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Payment Platform Manager to play a key role in the implementation and operational management of our payment strategy. As Payment Platform Manager you will take responsibility for managing the configuration of a payment orchestration platform, leading the operational relationship with payment providers, and for the planning, management, and delivery of multiple projects that drive operational and process excellence, reduce cost, and improve the customer experience within the realm of payments. In this role you will work closely together with the Global Head of Payments, and the Customer Payment, Operations, Finance, and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Management:
- Manage IWG’s payment provider infrastructure for card and alternative payments in 120 countries.
- Manage the configuration of the IWG payment set-up on a payment orchestration platform, and in internal systems
- Implement routing and cascading rules required in line with the IWG payment strategy
- Setup/configure platform alerts and notifications
- Manage platform users and ensure the right permissions are granted
- Setup, configure, customize, and manage the set-up of IWG legal entities on the platform
- Setup, configure and manage dashboards and reports to track payment performance
- Configure and monitor the process that automates reconciliation of payments
- Align with the infrastructure team when needed to configure/set up infrastructure and/or network changes
- Ensure the necessary developments in integration APIs and payment journeys are properly aligned between IWG systems and the payment orchestration platform.
- Oversee and drive timely resolution of IT, configuration and other issues that impact the payments process and performance.
Payment Management:
- Monitor and analyse payment performance for all countries, payment providers and payment methods daily.
- Report on payment performance, and implement strategies that improve performance, e.g. increase payment success rate, reduce cost, maximise uptake of automatic forms of payment.
- Lead the day-to-day operational relationship with global payment providers (POP, PSPs, APMs, acquirers).
- Act as a key (escalation) point of contact for payment partners.
- Assist with the implementation of new payment providers, including managing the contract and boarding process.
- Implement local cardholder not present solutions in challenging markets.
- Implement alternative payment methods worldwide.
- Implement an open banking payment solution in Europe.
- Implement local direct debit processing in emerging markets in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Middle East.
- Run programs that increase the uptake of automated forms of payment, drive change in how customers pay, minimise FX charges, and boost standardisation in payment processes.
- Manage projects that drive operational, process and policy improvements throughout the organisation, both in the front and back office.
- Involve relevant stakeholders, facilitate project meetings, develop agendas, document outcomes and schedule actions.
- Create comprehensive project documentation and develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Coordinate internal and partner resources to complete deliverables.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in managing the payment set-up and performance, and/or driving change within a payment set-up for a large global corporate is a must.
- Experience with leading cross-functional projects in a large global corporate is a plus.
- Experience working for a payment orchestration platform, payment gateway, acquirer or processor is a plus.
- Experience working with PaymentIQ or Worldline Organized.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong attention to detail with solid organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a demanding environment.
- Self-motivated, takes ownership, is persistent and goal oriented.
- Commercial awareness, intelligent and analytical.
- Excellent leadership, motivational relationship and teambuilding skills.
- Ability to drive change through managing complex projects through to completion.
- Self-starter who can work with direction but little supervision, with a willingness to go beyond the job description to meet business goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
