What you'll be doing here
- Management and execution of the BFH subproject in an international, interdisclipinary SNSF founded research project on advanced separation technologies for the valorization of lignocellulosic biomass
- Practical laboratory work including modification, commissioning and operation of a steam-pretreatment plant, qualitative and quantitative analysis of solubilized molecules in pretreatment liquors, enzymatic hydrolysis
- Dissemination of results at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications
- Supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD students
What you'll bring with you
- MSc and PhD in chemical / process engineering or a related disclipine
- Profound experience in (steam-)pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass, enzymatic hydrolysis and related analytical methods
- Basic knowledge of lignin chemistry
- Enjoyment of hands-on laboratory and mechanical work
- Quick comprehension; independent, meticulous and reliable way of working
- Good communication skills; team player
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for green chemistry and climate change mitigation
