Roche fosters diversity, equity and inclusion, representing the communities we serve. When dealing with healthcare on a global scale, diversity is an essential ingredient to success. We believe that inclusion is key to understanding people’s varied healthcare needs. Together, we embrace individuality and share a passion for exceptional care. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
The Position
In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED) , we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary life-changing innovation at speed.
The Institute of Human Biology (IHB) is a newly established research center in Basel, Switzerland, dedicated to advancing human biology through the use of human model systems for translational research. Our dynamic and interdisciplinary environment fosters collaboration among biologists, engineers, and data scientists, bridging the gap between academic and pharmaceutical research. Closely associated with Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED), we partner with leading academic institutions both locally and globally to address grand challenges with bold, innovative science.
Your Impact
We are seeking independent and highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join the newly established team of ‘Patho-biology of Endodermal Organs’ at the IHB. The postdoctoral fellows will build an ambitious exploratory research project focused on homeostasis and disease of the adult liver, lung or pancreas, using organoid models.
You will have the opportunity to start an independent research line in these areas and are supported to publish work in scientific journals.
You will be able to access cutting-edge technologies developed at the IHB such as advanced bioengineered models, single-cell genomics and high-content imaging.
The postdoctoral fellow will further liaise with colleagues at IHB and pRED to translate models and findings in order to make a wider impact on human biology.
