Your responsibilities
As Head of Engineering PTD, you implement the global product & technology roadmap of the PTD segment with a strong design to cost focus and incorporating new technical trends. You execute and implement the defined strategy and the corresponding guidelines. You support and motivate the engineering team in the creation and development of innovative solutions. Your main responsibilities include:
  • Identify and understand market and technical requirements, trends and customer wishes. Implement these with innovative, cost-effective & scalable solutions
  • Ensure operational and technical excellence of the engineering & project management team to achieve the team's goals within the overall strategic goals of PTD organization and segment
  • Prioritize resources and projects in consultation with the segment's decision makers
  • Ensure technology leadership based on MULTILAM contact technology in collaboration with the corresponding R&D group
  • Support production planning, production, assembly, quality management and customers where needed
  • Data maintenance and use of project management tools for standard and MTO projects
  • Cost control of the engineering cost center and budget planning
Your Profile
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology (M.Sc./dipl.Ing.) preferable with an EMBA or strong knowledge of business administration
  • Several years of experience in Product Development or R&D, ideally with a focus on electric contact technology, power to X or power transmission, and familiar with industry standards and regulations
  • Track record as Head of Engineering (design engineering / development) in an international environment and in direct contact with customers
  • Project management and methodological skills in an end-to-end context such as project planning and implementation, risk management, lifecycle management, design thinking, eco-design, design to cost, design for manufacturing
  • Knowledge of 2D- / 3D-CAD, EDM- / PDM-systems and ERP-systems (incl. FE tool Ansys, SAP)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with different interdisciplinary and international stakeholders (customers, C-level management, peers, employees).
  • Proficiency in English and good command of German, other languages are advantageous
