The responsibility of logistics includes moving FIFA items from Zurich to the host countries of FIFA tournaments or events and back. This involves leading and overseeing various logistic sub-projects-such as material planning, customs and international freight, movement of team equipment, warehousing and distribution, and venue logistics services-in cooperation with the Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS), the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), or the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) within the respective host countries. 

THE POSITION

These are your key tasks:
  •  Independent planning, shipping preparation, and execution for FIFA tournaments, draws, and corporate events. This includes the initial planning, liaising with internal departments, calculating and communicating deadlines and collecting orders from internal departments
  • Preparation of tender documents (RFQ) for logistics services required for specific events and evaluation of the received bids
  • Coordination and execution of the event related shipping in the FIFA warehouse and abroad, including pick & pack, unpacking, repacking and distribution
  • Managing event related shipping requests, including ad-hoc and last-minute requests
  • Issuance of customs documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, Carnet ATA)
  • Coordinating requirements and timelines with hotels, event venues, and functional areas
  • Managing FIFA storage area at tournaments and events, serving as the point of contact for all logistics-related requests
  • Setting-up of simplified customs procedures in cooperation with the LFS/LOC and host countries, as well as on-site trouble-shooting

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
  • Completed commercial apprenticeship in international freight forwarding, customs, and logistics 
  • Further training in international trade, customs ,and supply chain is beneficial
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the international freight sector (air, road, sea) with enhanced knowledge and experience in international import and export processes 
  •  Solution-oriented with a positive, proactive, and pragmatic attitude 
  • Client-focused with cross-cultural interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multinational teams at all levels
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in any other FIFA language is an asset 
  • Driving license required 
  • Willingness to travel 
  • Physically fit with the ability to complete hands-on work (packing and lifting boxes, doing warehouse tasks onsite)
