WFJ senior Financial controller

WFJ senior Financial  controller, Swiss markets (Brazil, Mexico, Panama, India & Switzerland)

Reports to: Swiss Markets regional Chief Financial Officer

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

The Mission:

The position is part of the Financial Planning & Analysis team of the newly created group of Swiss Markets. The individual will be acting as a business partner for the WFJ Division providing financial guidance at a local and regional level, identifying critical business opportunities, drawing meaningful conclusions and making recommendations.

The role will also include various project assignments.

In particular, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Responsible for the full budgeting and planning process for the Watch and Fine Jewelery (WFJ) division, including local reviews with the CFO, Head of WFJ Business and Managing Director as well as final submission to the global finance team.
  • Preparing and co-presenting bi-annual strategic presentations to the global leadership teams.
  • Overseeing the WFJ inventory management and stock obsolescence.
  • Lead for commercial aspects of the annual audit pertaining to the WFJ division, including revenue recognition and analytical review.
  • Reviewing capital expenditure requests before submission for sign-off, as well as post-mortems on existing projects.
  • Working collaboratively with the financial accounting team to ensure policies (such as impairment reviews, lease accounting) are implemented and adhered to.
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and ensure internal controls
  • Animate the retail procedures for the WFJ activity in the region
  • Working with regional and local management on the development of strategy in the territories by reviewing budgets, plans and forecasts.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of financial systems and planning processes.
  • Providing adhoc financial analysis and presentations as required by the CFO and senior management.
  • Participate in transversal FP&A subjects and workstreams during the planning process throughout the year.

Skills you possess

  • Graduated in Business, Finance or Accounting you have an experience of minimum 6 years in Controlling or internal Audit.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of TM1, Axapta and Power BI desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to analyze & interpret financial reports, identify critical business issues. 
  • Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, use own initiative and work autonomously when required.
  • Ability to comprehend business issues and develop coherent & comprehensive business solutions.
  • Flexible with good time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented.
  • Self-driven and motivated to go the extra mile.
  • English and French as base working language. German, Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills would be advantageous.
